Lord Ganesha was a scribe to Sage Vedavyaasa and so was Sage Manu of Manusmriti from whom the word, manuscript, gains importance. Stories of life in historical and herstorical format regale us from time to time, but mythology - my'th'ology, as in study of my story becoming better - affected by unhealed wounds may not have been thought of as needing a medical transcription.
Read on for what a new role on what medical transcription could mean.

"Medical transcriptionists must assess medical reports and correct any inaccuracies and inconsistencies in finished drafts." — Anon
Medical transcription is the critical link in healthcare that converts voice-recorded reports into written documents for patient records, legal purposes and smooth communication, ensuring accuracy and continuity of patient care. Often described as a 'healthcare documentation specialist,' this profession combines meticulous listening, medical knowledge, and editing to uphold accuracy and security.
Medical transcriptionists play many a role in the health care industry and there have emerged many job titles by which their jobs over the years has a title hierarchy. Starting from the job of a person typing text as a person dictates to titles such as Medical Necessity Analysts and other such, roles played define quality, not just in the healthcare industry but also in quality of life as experienced, circling around the job description/title.
The following is a letter I wrote to a colleague. It happened to have some of the stories in my becoming who I am today - original humane intelligence facilitator from transcribing the language of life to language of health through the term, Prakriti, which isn't how a lot of people relate to the meaning of the word. And meanings, however they are made, gives substance to stories (history and her story's) worth of directions, derivatives and also quality of health by which at least the ShriChakra and similar details are made sense of. How we look at things subtly changes what we can see - kinda like a door that isn't available without the right perspective..or meaning.
"This letter has some of the content I’ve been wanting to write to you at least about - it’s about another role we, medical transcriptionists, have the unique opportunity to contribute towards - the Human Health Story.
I’d have to start a bit with my story, so you have a context to understand this from.
I joined the medical transcription industry in 2000 and have been following patient health stories through the medical document. I got a MasterOfArts Degree in English Literature while being employed. I thought it’d be nice to get a Graduate Certificate while basically reading novels and stories, that I like anyways; I got a brief deep dive into human history and herstory through literature from across human civilisation as we know it!
I continued to transcribe and be a Quality Control Specialist while studying the 2-year correspondence course with brief in-person coaching classes in the course of getting certified.
I started seeing the medical records as patient stories and started seeing types of problems for health not already being present. I’ve always wanted to be a doctor and I was doctoring medical records for errors - curing diseases of records by healing and correcting codes and stories within the records. Basically, moving history and herstory forward for the better.
Meanwhile, my personal cup of life got deeply stirred to the point that I got disoriented to personal relationships and my role in the whole schema of things until I hit rock bottom nothing and had to reconstruct my lifestory from the bottoms up. I joined several courses and programs in finding answers to existential life questions. All along, I held onto my work as Quality Control Specialist for dear life because that was the only thing I knew that made sense and could correct errors until things were all fine, and I could get a feedback on when right or wrong definitively from an entire team working towards it in an organisation. My team members didn’t know causes for my errors or my obsessive sometimes long hours at work in getting better. After a critical thinking test by a senior manager, they supported me and offered me the opportunity to apply my mind in studying for the CMT. New area for studying with a lot more in detail on human health improvement efforts from a variety of specialities, an entire library opened to me from the Company and I was learning Quality Assurance! My life was getting firmer and on stabler grounds with a substance. I even improved my diet to have what it takes to clear the Exam. Incidentally, after clearing the Exam, it was just another thing I needed to do and got back to my work and sorting out my placement in the whole schema of things - I still had my life and relationships to live/survive while it was a certificate I earned with people’s help, albeit an International one.
I got promoted to Quality Assurance Specialist and started deep diving into root causes of errors I kept finding in the Transcriptionists’ work I was auditing. I tried to get into Training, given how much I wanted to actually do something about the health of medical documents, than just correcting errors and, like a person casually commented, make post-mortem reports of medical records.
I think they had some person parallel listen with me for my work process and were impressed about something I did or what I was doing in the name of work. I hadn’t taken a leave in an entire year and got awarded for it! I sent out Tricks Of Trade document and other such initiatives to improve health of documents. I got promoted to Senior Quality Assurance Specialist.
I got an opportunity to get into active health care in the form of a training opportunity to be a biodynamic craniosacral
In the course of becoming a therapist, I was working a 9-hour shift and facilitating health clinically after work as well as studying to be a therapist. The Program was a correspondence course with 5-day seminars with on-hands clinical work supervised by trained therapists with long years of experience - something, I had a brief experience of through my MasterOfArts correspondence program. This was way more in experience with my medical transcription work paralleling my clinical education.
I was also going through ancients scripts and literature related to all kinds of health facets in figuring out my placement in the whole schema of things, given the changing nature of my work between medical transcription and active health care with literary scriptures bespeaking the role of humans in the whole schema of things vis-a-vis animals, plants, microbes and rarity of life on Earth not found in any other Planet or out there in Space in spite of search since some time.
Long story short, I discovered that Prakriti (that most people tend to call as Nature) refers to human body and life forms being like medical underwriters - transcribing from just having a body that’s human stories of life as lived over generations of genetic lived experience (and correcting codes while living). And that medical transcriptionists, by the fact of being trained over years to correct and improve the Human Health Story, contribute to moving and improving history and herstory forward for the better. I made this instagram post on the matter once I had this 'A-Ha!' moment (https://www.instagram.com/
There’s a pattern here. It’s by a theory of Intelligent Design - Life’s Intelligent Design in biodynamic motion, like Life’s in-form-action technology to fast track what is possible from improving health. That is, as I focused more on health than disease in medical records, life events turned out such that I facilitate original humane intelligence and am working towards enlivening life in multiverse through my suite of solutions, including my credentials as a medical transcriptionist, which is part of why I write to you. Earth and Life on Earth is functioning like a large incorporation promoting people who are working towards improving health of life’s stories amongst other conducive technologies.
With the role of Medical Necessity Analysts also showing up since some time and HDIA, the value MTs add to health care, vs disease care, is way more than I can individually talk about in emphasising the importance of people training to be medical transcriptionists or at least transcribing history and herstory (lifestories) in terms of health. Non-MTs tend to focus a lot on problems while we, MTs, are trained to focus on correcting errors and improving health of stories, or at least that’s the direction we, MTs, could contribute in helping the world improve the Human Health Story, where mythological stories also have a lot of difficult spots and narratives that do not allow for people to go beyond W.H.O.’s global list of diseases because of shared narratives whose health hasn’t been healed since some time. In fact, I tend to think the word, Health, itself means Heal-th (degree of healing over time).
I am now full time in my own Enterprise of facilitating original humane intelligence through aforementioned learnings and working on enlivening life in the multiverse through my suite of solutions, including learnings from the medical transcription industry alongside clinical health facilitation through the biodynamic perspective. Here’s my digital card (https://www.digital-card.co.
Maybe this text gives you/us pause for thought as to how we could individually and collectively as an industry too contribute in newer ways to improving the world for a better place to live in, starting at least with writing our own autobiographies and then improving health of our stories? I can help with my 46+ years of experience, some of which are mentioned above. I also wrote this blog on the matter (blog/black-mold-the-quiet-
As audacious as it may sound, its not everyday that you wake up knowing you aren't playing a small role from having a body that's human and with years of medical transcription experience and developmental benefits from an industry at work since years contributing towards it amongst other details.
Look forward to hearing your thoughts on the matter."
Look forward to hearing your thoughts, dear Reader, on the matter.
